A grim tale for Christmas.
My daughter wanted an Amazon gift card for Christmas, so we bought her one at a supermarket.
Just before this, some evil crook had managed to tease open the packaging, photograph all the numbers and seal it back up, so that they could defraud Amazon by claiming the value for their Amazon account (despite not buying the card).
My daughter got a worthless piece of plastic for Christmas, and Amazon customer services very clearly explained that the value on the card had already been taken by someone else, which is why it wasn't appearing on her account.
On complaining that the supermarket had taken my money for something worthless, I got no redress from the duty manager, who effectively blamed me for choosing the bad one. I am very disappointed by this attitude from Tesco, which I feel sure breaches the UK Sale of Goods act, since they took my money for something that was not of merchantable quality.
I would advise anyone not to waste your money by shopping at Tesco as I have. I shan't be wasting my money at Tesco in future.
As a management response it's about the same as blaming a mother for choosing the jar of baby food with the broken glass in it.
